 Reading Tasks and Comprehension

For home learning, the children will be required to complete a weekly reading comprehension task. The task will be set on a weekly basis and then marked together in class the following week.

It is important that these tasks are completed on time as this will impact on the children's learning time in the classroom.

Easter Homework
During the Easter break, I would like the children to practise some tests to ensure they keep up the great work they are doing already.
Please print off the tests at home and please stick to the times given for each paper.
I have included the mark schemes so you can mark each paper and then both see where your child's strengths and weaknesses lie.

Below you will find the spellings the children will need to know for year 6. The children will be tested every Thursday and we will be going through the spelling rules of each week as well. Their grammar IXL homework is also displayed below.
Commas should aim to achieve a minimum score of 60 out of a 100, Capital Letters should aim to achieve a minimum score of 70 out of 100 and Full Stops should aim to score a minimum of 80 out of 100. If you complete the tasks quite quickly then feel free to practice some of the other units that you are not as confident with.
REMEMBER if you are on IXL for more than 45 mins and still haven't met the minimum score then take a break and do it another day. If you STILL have difficulty, then come and see me when you are next in school.
